The AQSN is Australia’s first not-for-profit organisation that is dedicated to the emerging quantum technology industry. Our goal is to grow the quantum algorithms, software and theory community throughout Australia in order to support both the local ecosystem, but the development of quantum technologies, globally.
AQSN will launch new and exciting projects as it grows to support its membership base, you can check out our first set of projects:
- Micro- and MesoGrants in support of Quantum learning theory, Noise and its impact on quantum advantage and resources for quantum computation and quantum advantage, sponsored by Hon-Hai Research Institute.
- Micro- and MesoGrants in support of the intersection of digital security and quantum, sponsored by BTQ.
- Membership in the EPSRC International Network in Space Quantum Technologies (INSQT) in the UK, with associated benefits to support student travel and collaborative research.
Benefits of these projects are only open to members of AQSN. In order to become a member, you must:
- Be affiliated with one of our member organisations.
- OR be affiliated with one of our partner organisations.
- AND be a researcher/professional with a primary focus on R&D of quantum algorithms, software and theory.
You will be asked at the point of application to verify your eligibility. This can take the form of providing a website link (for example your GoogleScholar profile or other work related website), link to a recent academic paper showing current affiliation, copy of a staff ID or student ID or a letter or PDF of an email from a current AQSN member who can attest to your current status as a staff or student of one of our member institutions or partner organisations.
Membership Fees are (per Annum) :
- $100 AUD for permanent academic staff (continuing positions) and industry professionals.
- $50 AUD for early-career and mid-career researchers. Those with doctorates, but not a continuing academic or professional appointment.
- Free for all PhD, Masters and Honours students.
Membership fees will be charged on a recurring basis for all verified members. Student memberships are limited to 4 years from the point of applying.
When applying for memberships as permanent staff, industry professionals or early career-researchers, your credit card will be charged and then your membership form will be submitted for verification. Verification should occur within approximately 24 hours (please be patient as these verifications will occur manually by AQSN). You will not be able to access restricted content until your membership is verified. If you are found not to be eligible as a member of the AQSN, your membership fee will be refunded to the card used when you sign up. Once your membership is approved you can access your account details here or using the “Account” tab on the main page to cancel, change your password or check your payment history.
